Undad. Graphic novel.

UNDAD

More than just another zombie story, Undad is about the challenges of being a husband/father while being (literally) dead inside.

A chance encounter with a ragged homeless man leaves Brett Buckley with deep teeth marks in his arm, and a sudden ravenous hunger for living flesh. Unable to control these urges, he consumes the hamster that belongs to his son’s class.

Fearing that losing his family might cost him the last of his dwindling humanity, Brett must win back their love and respect, all the while attempting to find his new place in the world and reconcile his vegetarian morals with his insatiable appetite for live meat…

Undad was shortlisted in the 2015 Australian Shadows Awards for best graphic novel and was a finalist in the 2016 ACT Writing and Publishing Awards.

Shake the lake volume 3

Shake the lake Vol. 3

As the days count down to “Shake The Lake”, Joe misses his chance to ask Megan out and bums around at the lakehouse. A friendly competition to close sponsors wins Jake a make-out sesh with McClouski’s secretary and Cal convinces a legendary pro wakeboarder to come ride in the event.
Nika gets revenge for some long past transgressions and ends up stealing a kiss from Cal under the stars. The crew throws a massive houseboat party and Zeke and Dalton show up with attitude and a plan to shut down the event.
This comic series follows a crew of best friend wakeboarders as they navigate personal and social challenges in an unfamiliar Arizonan lake town while prepping for a massive summer festival.

Shake the lake volume 2

Shake the lake Vol. 2

Cal is immediately stricken with Nika and his upgraded summer life. Things appear to be great but the lack of a strong wake community leads to rising tensions between individual crews and Cal fights with Nika’s ex-boyfriend, a prominent icon in the community. Zeke and Dalton, two hardnosed Park Rangers, target the crew with constant trouble and threats against the Marina. Cal, Nika and the others make it their goal to throw a professional wakeboarding event called “Shake The Lake” at the end of the summer.
Nika’s father agrees to help promote the event and get industry businesses, riders and sponsors onboard during the busy tourist season which causes fiction with the high society yacht club and the city officials.
With the enlisted help of the marina workers and a washed up talent agent named McClouski, the group learns how to put together a professional event. However, the Park Rangers and quite a few of the wealthy townspeople don’t look kindly on “Shake The Lake” or those putting it on and obstacles begin to stack up. Obstacles that threaten all the work they’ve done during the summer and even the future of the Marina and the well-being of Nika’s family.

This comic series follows a crew of best friend wakeboarders as they navigate college, parties, love and life.

Think Lords of Dogtown on the water with a bit of American Pie meets Wet Hot American Summer.

Shake the lake Volume 1

Shake the lake volume 1

An alternative wakeboarding graphic novel.

A group of outsiders flip an Arizona lake town on its head attempting to rescue a bullied marina from snobby, yacht club encroachment by staging a mammoth, end-of-season, pro wakeboarding festival against the wishes of the town’s hardnosed park rangers.

Callun and his best friends kick off summer with some kilt wakeboarding (no undies) and host a raucous house party at their lake house. Accused of having no direction, Cal’s girlfriend dumps him. The party spirals out of control and the next day, Callun is kicked out of his rental which jeopardizes the epic summer he and his friends had planned.

Rather than move back home and work all season under the judging eye of his parents, Cal convinces his best friend Joe to pay for the group to road trip to Lake Victoria, Arizona where a childhood crush “Nika” can hook them up with jobs at her family’s Marina.

Reluctantly, Joe agrees and the group find themselves on the move in search of the endless summer. They soon realize that it's not all sunshine and rainbows on the road to paradise.

This comic series follows a crew of best friend wakeboarders as they navigate societal pressures, parties, love and life.

You won't find any super heroes in Shake The Lake, instead it's set in real life with a relatable action sports story about restless youth and endless summers. It’s Lords of Dogtown on the water with a bit of American Pie meets Wet Hot American Summer.
